For DTC Shopify brands, and the agencies that build for them

We fix what happens after the sale.

Splicewell builds the connected system behind a Shopify store: CRO, custom development, and AI automation, so more of the customers you already paid to acquire actually come back. Not another email tool. The system underneath.

The problem we exist to fix

Every channel has a specialist. Nobody owns what happens between them.

Your ads team gets the customer. Shopify processes the sale. An email tool sends a welcome flow. Support handles the complaints. A subscription app handles renewals. Each piece works fine on its own, and the customer still falls through the gaps between them. This isn't a theory. Merchants say it themselves:

"Too many shortcomings requiring too many apps."Shopify Community forum
"Apps have become worse than the mafia."Shopify Community forum
Data silos are widely cited as a leading cause of stalled DTC growth in 2026 industry analysis.Ecommerce industry research
Paid Ads Shopify Checkout Email / SMS Support Subscriptions Nobody
The result:

Customers who don't activate, don't repurchase, or contact support twice for the same issue, with nobody connecting the dots, because the data, the tooling, and the ownership are all split across five different vendors. That's not a marketing problem or a dev problem alone. It's both, built as one system.

Sound familiar?
  • Your support team answers the same two or three questions every week, and marketing has no idea it's happening.
  • Nobody can say for certain why subscribers cancel. The reasons live in a helpdesk tool that never talks to Klaviyo or Shopify.
  • You've added an app to fix a problem the last app was supposed to fix, and now there are five of them doing overlapping jobs.
Where we start

The Splicewell Systems Audit

Before anything gets built, we map what's actually happening between checkout and repeat purchase: which apps, which data, which manual steps, and exactly where customers are quietly falling out. You walk away with a clear, prioritized list, not a sales pitch.

  • Where your customer journey actually breaks down after the sale
  • Which of your apps and tools are talking to each other, and which aren't
  • What's being done manually today that shouldn't be
  • A prioritized plan: what to fix first, what to build, what to automate

What we actually do

Improve. Build. Automate.

Three things, in order, not a menu of ten disconnected services.

01

Improve

Fix what's already losing revenue: conversion, PDPs, mobile UX, checkout friction, the customer journey from click to repeat purchase.

  • Shopify CRO & A/B testing
  • PDP & mobile UX optimization
  • Post-purchase & activation flows
  • Subscription & retention audits
02

Build

Custom development where off-the-shelf apps stop being enough: Shopify Plus, full-stack systems, and the integrations that connect them.

  • Shopify Plus theme & app development
  • Metafields, swatches, combined listings
  • React/Next.js & Node.js systems
  • ERP, CRM & payment integrations
03

Automate

AI applied to the operational grind: catalog cleanup, product classification, and connecting the customer signals nobody's watching.

  • AI product classification at scale
  • Multi-store catalog & data automation
  • AI-assisted support triage
  • Cross-tool customer data workflows
Who we work with

Two ways in, same team, same portfolio.

For Brands

You're spending on acquisition and losing it after the sale.

You have traffic, you have customers, and everything after checkout is fragmented, manual, or generic. We audit the journey, then build and automate the fix ourselves.

  • ✓ Ecommerce & lifecycle audits
  • ✓ Shopify development & CRO
  • ✓ AI-driven catalog & support automation

For Agencies & Studios

You sold the strategy. You need someone who can build it right.

Senior, white-label technical execution for design, branding, and CRO agencies who don't carry heavy Shopify/AI development in-house.

  • ✓ White-label Shopify development
  • ✓ Overflow & specialist execution
  • ✓ AI implementation on your timeline

HART

Prestige theme migration, custom PDP rebuild, and metafield-based product swatches, while diagnosing the real gap: customers discovering charms but never entering the personalization journey.

Built a personalization & activation roadmap around a guided "What's Your Story?" builder experience, shoppable UGC, and saved-design retention mechanics: the exact acquisition-to-repeat-purchase gap this business is built to close.

Problem

72% of first-time buyers never placed a second order. Conversion on the first purchase was fine; the break was everything after it. The post-purchase experience ended at a single "thanks for your order" email, no routine guidance, no reason to come back, so acquisition spend kept buying customers the store only got to keep once.

Fix

Closed that exact gap: a 30-day usage-and-education flow tied to product data, plus a Shopify + Klaviyo integration surfacing a "repurchase window" prompt timed to when the product would actually run out. Same CRO logic behind every Splicewell engagement, find the point where a paying customer goes quiet, then build the system that catches them there.

Problem

Subscription checkout converted well on the first order, then churn spiked hard at month two. Support tickets showed customers didn't understand dosing or flavor rotation, but that signal never reached marketing or the product page. A classic gap: five tools each doing their job, nobody owning the space between them, and real subscribers leaking out through it every month.

Fix

Connected the helpdesk to the lifecycle system so recurring support themes auto-triggered targeted education sends before the cancel button ever got clicked, alongside a CRO pass on the subscription flow itself, tightening PDP copy and checkout messaging at the exact step customers were dropping.

Problem

3,000+ SKUs with inconsistent, manually-written categories meant shoppers couldn't filter reliably and gave up before a product ever loaded. Not a traffic problem, a conversion problem: real purchase intent hitting a dead end because the catalog itself was the friction point, and merchandising took a full week per season just to keep up.

Fix

AI-assisted bulk reclassification against a defined taxonomy, with human review on low-confidence items only, paired with a filter and category-page rebuild aimed straight at that drop-off. Cut re-tagging time from a week to under a day, and gave shoppers a path to checkout that actually matched how they search.

Problem

Mobile checkout abandonment sat above 80%, and it wasn't a mystery once you looked: size guide, shipping cost, and payment options each lived on a different page, so mobile shoppers with real intent to buy were falling out of the funnel at the very last step, the most expensive place in the whole journey to lose someone.

Fix

Rebuilt the mobile PDP and checkout flow around a single-screen size, shipping, and payment surface. No fabricated number here, but this is the exact category of CRO fix behind the HART and AMG results above: find precisely where paying customers are leaving, then close it.

How an engagement runs

Diagnose. Architect. Build. Measure.

01

Diagnose

Audit the store and the journey: where revenue, speed, or data is leaking, and why.

02

Architect

A prioritized roadmap: what to fix first, what to build custom, what to automate.

03

Build

Implementation on staging environments (Shopify, full-stack, or AI), QA'd before it touches production.

04

Measure

Post-launch tracking and iteration: repeat-purchase rate, AOV, and automation performance against real data.
